چکیده

It is appropriate to classify the lesions according to the apparent etiology, as this correlates with distinctive histological and clinical features. In addition to anabolic, estrogenic, or adrenocortical steroids, macroscopic peliosis hepatis has been reported in malnutrition,[2] leukemia, tuberculosis, leprosy, vasculitis, lymphoma,[3] and AIDS. Bacillary peliosis in human immunodeÞ ciency virus infection can manifest as massive hemoperitoneum.[4] In the present study, the patient gave a history of taking NSAIDS for vague abdominal pain, for almost a year; and the probability score by Naranjo algorithm[5] for NSAIDS use and hemoperitoneum calculates to 0 [doubtful adverse drug reaction].

Olanzapine-Induced Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is a rare but life-threatening idiosyncratic side effect resulting from neuroleptic drugs. NMS mainly occurs in patients treated with high-potency typical antipsychotics, but rarely caused by atypical antipsychotics. Although NMS is less common with atypical antipsychotic, but it seems that its incidence is rising due to increased administration of such drug...

Risperidone-induced Oculogyric Crisis

Sir, Risperidone in low doses (< 6 mg) is reported to be relatively free from extrapyramidal side effects including dystonia, akathisia, druginduced parkinsonism and tardive dyskinesia (Thomas and Lewis, 1998). A double blind study, which included 388 schizophrenic patients drawn from 20 sites in the United States, reported that the incidence of extrapyramidal symptoms in patients receiving 6 m...

Oculogyric Crisis Associated with Disulfiram-Induced Pallidonigral Lesion

We report a man who developed oculogyric crisis one month after disulfiram intoxication. Brain MRI showed lesions involving bilateral globus pallidus and left substantia nigra. In our patient, neuronal discharges from pathologically reorganized basal ganglia circuit to the mid-brain ocular motor center might lead to tonic deviation of the eyes.
